RFP - Pharr Road Side Channel Development and Large Wood Placement - Nespelem
The goal is to solicit proposals from a construction contractor to construct side channel habitat within an old side channel alignment area to increase quantity and quality of rearing habitat for subyearling Chinook salmon. The grading will create usable sidechannel habitat during peak outmigrant timing during higher stage and lower water temperatures. As stage drops and water temperatures rise, habitat will free drain and become unavailable to encourage outmigrants to move downstream into the Columbia River. Large wood installation will be placed at the inlet to provide complex off-channel habitat at a range of flow conditions. The project is located north of Riverside in Okanogan County. This project supports the Tribes Anadromous Fisheries Program. The Collville Tribes intends to award to the best suited respondent, the construction services to complete this project.
