Wenatchee Public Library Hazardous Materials Abatement - ARI

The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Select asbestos containing materials (ACM) will be abated from the building prior to completion of the renovation bidding and General Contractor selection. The ACM identified for abated in the Early Bid Package includes residual acoustical ceiling texture, vinyl floor tile, and black and yellow floor adhesive abatement. Additionally, select non-ACM materials have been identified for selective demolition including the metal lathe and plaster ceiling system associated with the residual acoustical ceiling texture. Other ACM will remain in-place during the Early Bid Package work and be abated as a portion of a subsequent renovation contract. The ACM that will remain in place at the conclusion of the Early Bid Package work includes white duct tape associated with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) ducting, window putty, window glazing, door putty, white seam sealant associated with the rock facia, white seam sealant on building components, roofing, and roof penetration sealants. 2. Lead containing materials (LCM) will be managed concurrent with selective demolition with some materials remaining at the conclusion of the work for future in-place management. 3. Lighting and electrical components (LEC) will be removed for offsite recycling or disposed and consist of predominantly of four-foot fluorescent lamps; magnetic ballasts assumed to contain polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) or other hazardous constituents; and mercury containing switches. Select lighting fixtures have been identified for Owner retainage and shall either be left in place or staged in a location designated by Owner. 4. Refrigerant containing systems (RCS) will remain in-place during the Early Bid Package work and be decommissioned as a portion of a subsequent renovation contract. The RSC that will remain in place during the Early Bid Package work consists of roof mounted HVAC and associated mechanical room components; a domestic style refrigerator and a chilled drinking water fountain system. 5. and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.
