DPW - RFQ - Design Services for New Veterans Home - Post Falls

Project 19606 IDVS New Veteran's Home will include all architectural and engineering services for the design through construction administration of a new 57 bed Skilled Nursing Home Facility on a 7.1-acre site located in Post Falls, Kootenai County, Idaho. The architectural and engineering must meet the State of Idaho standards for new construction and continuing operational criteria as outlined in IDAPA 16.03.02 Rules & Minimum Standards for Skilled Nursing & Intermediate Care Facilities; follows the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) concerning the general requirements for all Veteran State Home facilities pursuant to 38 CFR Part 59.130 and Part 59.140; and incorporates the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' (USDVA) Small House Model design guidelines where possible. The facility will need to maximize staff to resident ratio while ensuring a home like environment. It will consist of 4 units in which 3 of these unit homes will each have 15 private rooms with private bathrooms and 1 unit having 12 beds for memory care needs. Each home units will also have a shared common bathing suite, laundry room, patio and den/day area spaces. The facility will also include a common food preparation area, laundry facility, maintenance and supply areas, a covered dropoff/ pick-up area, and general parking spaces for 88 vehicles and 2 van parking spaces. All home units will have direct access to the Community Center. The Community Center includes common multi-purpose spaces, dining room/canteen, administration support spaces, and other common use spaces. . The design team will be required to work with a Construction Manager I General Contractor (CM/GC) once selected by the State of Idaho. An Environment Site Assessment is presently underway.
